What is the "Kim Test" used for?
- Kim test is a novel diagnostic test that is used to detect a posteroinferior labral lesion of the shoulder joint.
How to perform the "Kim Test"?
- With the patient in a sitting position with the arm in 90°of abduction, the examiner holds the elbow and lateral aspect of the proximal arm, and a strong axial loading force is applied.
- While the arm is elevated 45° diagonally upward, downward and backward force is applied to the proximal arm
What is the positive result?
- A positive test is indicated by a sudden onset of posterior shoulder pain.
