What is the "Egawa Sign" used for?
- Ulnar nerve palsy
How to perform the "Egawa Sign"?
- The patient flexes the middle digit at the metacarpophalangeal joint and then alternately deviates the finger radially and ulnarly (i.e., abducts both ways)
What is the positive result?
- If the patient is unable to do this, the interossei are affected.
- A positive sign is indicative of ulnar nerve palsy.
